note: listing the top 25 ports is difficult due to unregular reporting by the various ports. Chiba is one of the missing ports as recent data is hard to find, it would probably have a place around the 17th spot.
note: some ports use freight tons (volume measurement), others revenue tons and again others metric tons (weight). To get from freight ton (FT) to metric ton (MT) I divided FT by 1.085. Revenue ton (RT) seems to be about equal to MT. RT's are for instance used by South Korean ports.
